1. Segun & Wole Odegbami


Segun is a retired Nigerian footballer who played as a forward. He was nicknamed Mathematical for his precise style of play. He was also famous for running down the touchline with the ball to prevent opponents from getting it. Odegbami is regarded as one of the greatest Nigerian and African players of all-time.
Segun’s younger brother, Wole Odegbami, is also a former national team player. He is currently a columnist in Nigeria.



2. Augustine & Emmanuel Okocha

Former Premier League star Jay Jay proved more popular than his older brother Emmanuel who played as a midfielder for Enugu Rangers and Super Eagles. Jay Jay proved himself as one of the greatest footballers Nigeria ever had in history after lifting African Cup Nation and Olympic Gold medal plus playing in three in World Cup.



3. John & Peter Utaka

John is a former Nigerian international who currently plays currently plays as a striker for Championnat National 2 side CS Sedan Ardennes in France. Peter is the younger brother plying his trade in Ventforet Kofu, Japan.






4. Nwankwo & Christopher Kanu

Another popular Nigerian football family is the Nwankwos. Kanu’s achievements in the beautiful game made the family famous but the retired footballer who played for the Super Eagles for 16 years from 1994 until 2010 winning Olympics gold in Atalanta 1996 alongside Jay Jay, Babayaro’s and Sunday Oliseh. His younger brother Christopher is also a retired Nigerian footballer who played as a defender for Ajax and Sparta Rotterdam and others also featured in Super Eagles.



5. Emmanuel & Celestine Babayaro

Celestine and Emmanuel are Nigerian football siblings. Emmanuel is a retired Nigerian footballer who played as a goalkeeper and best known for being the older brother of former Chelsea and Newcastle United player Celestine Babayaro. Former Chelsea left-back Celestine is more popular and than his brother, Emmanuel was also part of Nigeria’s gold medal-winning team at the 1996 Olympics, a side in which Celestine also appeared.



6. Kalu & Ikechukwu Uche

The Aba-born football duo made their family name prominent through the beautiful game. Kalu, who played for the Nigerian national team as an attacking midfielder spent most of his professional career in Spain, mainly with Almería, with which he amassed La Liga totals of 117 games and 27 goals. Kalu’s younger brother Ikechukwu is also a Nigerian footballer who plays for the Nigerian national team and Spanish club Gimnàstic de Tarragona as a striker. Just like his older brother, Ikechukwu spent most of his football career in Spain.



7. Sunday & Azubuike Oliseh

Oliseh is one of the prominent football family in Nigeria but the name was brought to limelight by Sunday who is the most popular of the Oliseh brothers. Ex-Fortuna Sittard coach Sunday who played as a defensive midfielder during his time in the national team and AFC Ajax, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus. Azubuike his younger brother also played as a midfielder for Anderlecht, also, his younger brother Egutu Oliseh is a former AS Nancy and QPR midfielder both played for Nigerian




8. Efetobore & Samuel Sodje

Efetobore Peter “Efe” Sodje is a former professional footballer of Nigerian origin who played as a central defender for several English football league clubs. He also represented Nigeria in the 2000 African Cup of Nations and the 2002 World Cup.
Efe’s younger brother, Samuel Okeremute Sodje also played for the Super Eagles for four years from 2005 to 2009.



9. Kelechi & Chidiebere Nwakali

Kelechi is a Nigerian international who plays as a midfielder for FC Porto B, on loan from Premier League club Arsenal, he took the nation by surprise when is individual display against Spanish Laliga giants Atletico Madrid didn’t go unnoticed, while is elder brother Chidiebere also futured in the same game and have received so many call ups to the National team fold.
