The Wisest Lion on a Rescue Mission

The Wisest Lion on a Rescue Mission.

Discovered by Coach Ezekiel Maji and scouted in Abuja alongside Star Coach Yema; Peter Oluka is on a rescue mission in Moldova to lift Codru Football Club out of relegation waters and keep them afloat the Divizia Nationala.

Peter, a.k.a. Wiser has been winning the midfield battle for 36 Lion Football Club since he graduated from our Abuja U-16 under the guidance of Coach Eazy.

Peter is not only a box to box fighter, he also holds the record for the most distance covered in games at the average of 11.6km per game.

This young man was recently adjudged the best midfielder in the last Ogunjobi Gold Cup, the best midfielder vs Osun United preseason friendly, the best midfielder in Ibadan at the March 2nd to 5th Diamond Sport/Triple 44 tournament and now he has sign in Moldova with Codru Football Club. We are sure Lion Oluka will make us proud.

Kudos to Mr. Metehan Karaman, our Eastern European FIFA Agent who brokered this deal. We close the 2020/2021 winter transfer window with this transfer and continue to move positively forward.

We wish Peter Oluka all the best in Moldova.

Come on Codru!!!

UP 36!!!

Villarreal sign 36 Lion wonderkid Quadri Liameed on loan

Villarreal sign 36 Lion wonderkid Quadri Liameed on loan

Villarreal have completed the signing of Nigerian teenager Quadri Liameed on a one year loan from 36 Lion.

As reported by Futbalgalore.com.ng, an agreement has been reached between the two clubs which will see the 18-year-old spend the next one year in Spain.

Speaking about the move, the Nigeria U20 international told Futbalgalore.com.ng: “I am happy to be with Villarreal now. The club is known for relying on young players and making them better.

“I want to learn a lot at the club, play a lot and help the team to be successful. I hope that we will have many happy moments together.”

Primarily a deep-lying midfielder, the 18-year-old is physically not the most dominating of players. However, standing at 1.80m, he is taller than some central defenders.

The youngster doesn’t rely on his height, though, and instead bases his game around intelligence and technique.

In possession, Quadri is a subtle but penetrative influence from the base of midfield. He likes to drop deep between the centre-backs to act as a first receiver before turning and looking to play vertical passes through the opposition’s defensive block.

He is comfortable receiving the ball with his back to goal and doesn’t falter easily under pressure, showcasing composure beyond his years along with graceful ball control and an ability to resist pressure using his awareness of space and positioning.

Quadri stay deep at all times, however. He does enjoy venturing further forward when appropriate, settling in a higher space to support his team’s possession game as it progresses up the pitch.

He will hold back slightly, as opposed to making forward forays beyond the opposition’s defensive line.

Taking up more of a back-seat, quarter-back role, he will look to take the ball and scan the opposition’s structure in search of holes for through balls to be played.

Defensively, Quadri again makes use of brain rather than brawn to win out. He doesn’t dive into tackles, remaining calm even in dangerous one-on-one situations in which he finds himself up against an attacker without nearby support from defensive team-mates.
